The momentum keeps building as we are now two weeks away from the big day. We're now 85% full for the half marathon. Register now.
Update - 10/19/08: We are now out of Large, X-Large, and XX-Large event technical shirts for the half marathon distance. We still have XS, S, and M left. We are getting very close to our race cap, so register soon.
Registrations continue to be way above the norm for us for the DRC Half on Nov. 2. At this moment, we are 80% full for the capped 4,000-registrant half marathon. There is a lot more room left in the 5K, but we anticipate that this race will quickly hit the cap once the half marathon fills up. There will not be any race week in-person registration if the race fills up before then. Register now.
Registration counts have exploded since we announced the race cap. Because event shirts have to be ordered in advance, we only have a certain number of these New Balance technical shirts in each size. There are no longer any XX-Large shirts available for the half marathon distance. And under 100 left of a couple other sizes. Note: All sizes are still available for the 5K event.
If you delay in registering, you may still be able to do that a week and a half from now, but there's a chance you'll be asking your friends/children/spouse if they want a nice DRC Half shirt because you can't wear the sizes still available at that point. So register now!
It's less than a month away and we are anticipating a record turn out as registrations are already up 50% from past years. Due to this overwhelming response, the Dallas Running Club is announcing a cap of 4,000 for the Half Marathon and 1,000 for the 5K.
In order for the DRC to ensure that there are plenty of refreshments including water, isotonic beverages, and energy supplements, as well as, event shirts, finisher medals and additional supplies it is necessary to cap the entries. So register now!
 Below are the companies who have at least 10 employees participating in the 5K or half marathon. Keep an eye out for these runners who will have their company name on their bib. These companies have runners and walkers embracing a healthy lifestyle and we want to celebrate that!

We want to help you get your coworkers out of those desk chairs and a little more active! Show your company pride and bond as a group while you are at it! Before October 1, get at least 10 employees registered, and we'll put your company name on all your bibs! Get 40 or more employees, and you'll all get a special colored bib to identify your group. They are training 450 Dallas Running Club members who are enrolled in the DRC Fall 2008 Half and Full Marathon Training Program, and now they will pace you too! 14 coaches from the training program will be serving as the official Pace Team of the DRC Half Marathon. Each Pace Leader will run even splits (every mile will be run in the same amount of time) throughout the half marathon, and by following your Pace Team leader, you'll cross the line within a couple minutes of your goal finishing time. We have teamed up with "Legion 1" (or more properly, 1st Platoon, Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division) who are planning to remotely participate in the DRC Half Marathon and will receive bibs, event technical shirts by New Balance, and finisher medals. We are looking for people to sponsor a Marine with either a donation of money or supplies. Registration is open for the fall Dallas Running Club half and full marathon training program. The program will kick off July 9. It is a 16 week program with the DRC Half as one of its goal or training races. Participants also get a short sleeve DRC Distance Team technical shirt. All this with the low cost of $25. Present in the new logo is the green and blue of White Rock Lake - this is the only fall half marathon in Dallas that goes around this beautiful running and cycling mecca of our city! This race is a great source of pride for the club, spelling our Dallas Running Club at the top and including the DRC logo near the bottom. As an event past its 30th year, the shield is an emblem, of the institution of running in Dallas and of the history of this event as a standard on the running calendar.
And of course the Dallas skyline, viewable over the treeline during the race, is included in our logo.
